A Quirky & Loyal NSDTR Mix Looking for Her Person 
Bubble is a 5-year-old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever mix (or an uncanny lookalike!) with a sweet soul and a delightfully quirky personality. She’s loyal, clever, and full of love—but she likes her world calm, cozy, and on her terms.
So, you may be wondering, "What in the world is a Toller?".
“Toller” is short for Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. A Toller is a highly intelligent, high energy, outdoor loving, easily trained, people loving breed that originated in Canada. It is the provincial dog of Nova Scotia and is favored by many in the USA.

Like any other breed, the Toller sometimes find themselves in dangerous or neglectful situations.
This is where Toller Rescue, Inc. actively steps in, regardless of location, to assist a reported Toller in need!
TRI understands your donation is important to you, and how it's used is even more important:
Outreach
TRI works with other shelters, rescue organizations, even law enforcement in USA and Canada to rescue purebred Tollers and possible Toller mixes.
Health
TRI meets the medical needs of at-risk Tollers and possible Toller mixes regardless of location.
Education
TRI works with foster and adoptive Toller families to educate them on the Toller breed’s unique needs and personality.

🎂 4.5 years old | 💬 Chatty & Sweet | 💦 Water Lover
LadyBird is a quirky, opinionated little redhead with a big heart. She’s great with respectful dogs and totally ignores cats. She doesn’t chase wildlife, but she will scream with excitement before cannonballing into the pool to “save” you. Her ideal day? A pup cup, a swim, and a snuggle.
She’s crate trained, housebroken, and loves riding in the car (and yelling at drive-thru workers). Not into hikes, but very into people—she wants to be where you are. She’s sweet, sassy, and loves to talk, especially at bedtime, mealtime, or if someone dares to walk past your yard.
LadyBird doesn’t chew, doesn’t like chicken, and is still figuring out bones—but she’ll never turn down a cheese stick. She knows her name, her crate, and how to tell you exactly what she’s thinking.

🐾 Meet BUBBLES – Brilliant, Sensitive, and Ready for a Fresh Start 🐾
📍 Located in Akron Ohio | NSDTR Mix | 5 Years Old | Female
Needs to be placed by mid - late JULY
Bubbles is a super smart, athletic, and quirky girl looking for a human who will make her the center of their world. She’s had a rough start in life, but she’s come a long way — and she’s ready to blossom in the right home.
✨ The Good Stuff:
• Knows: Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Place (“Bed”)
• Obeys beautifully — will stay where placed until released
• Non-reactive to other dogs on walks – may whine if nervous but settles easily with redirection and space She will simply sit and wait for the dog to pass given the sit and wait command
An owner that can read body language. She lets you know if uncomfortable with animals or people, she has a small whine. Her abuse may from been from human and animal. She is counting on you to protect her.
• Has cohabitated peacefully (briefly) with dogs in their home – but none have been in hers
• No history of destructive behavior – she’s just particular about her space
• Would thrive with dog sports: scent work, agility, obedience — she LOVES to work and learn!
🐶 The Quirks (aka her charm):
• Bubbles does NOT like dogs in her face — give her personal space, and she’s golden
• Not a match for homes with children or people planning to have kids
• She needs routine, engagement, and someone committed to her continued training and happiness
• She’s a trauma survivor ( a trauma we can only speculate on from her behaviors but it could be from other animals as well as humans ) who has built trust — she deserves a person who will keep showing up for her
💔 Her current owner is heartbroken — but due to an unexpected schedule change, Bubbles can no longer get the time and attention she needs to thrive.
🌱 Ideal Home:
• Adults only
• Active, dog-savvy human
• No other dogs in the home
• A love for training, bonding, and exploring new challenges together
